Classic Kurume Cotton Samue

From the spinning, dyeing, and weaving of the fabric to the cutting and sewing: this Samue is made entirely in Japan, in a region called Kurume. Kurume has a long history of traditionally manufactured cotton fabric, for which the dye is applied to the yarn before it is woven! That results in a long-lasting tint that does not wash off quickly or fade when dried in the sun.

Carefully processed and sewn with attention to detail, this 100% cotton Samue is light, features high breathability, and is hence, very comfortable to wear.

Originally, the Samue is worn by Buddhist monks to perform daily chores, but in modern times, it is also a great gear for Zazen (meditation practice) or as comfortable leisure wear at home.
This Samue features 3 pockets, two on the jacket and one spacious one on the pants. The width of both, cuff and sleeve ends, can be adjusted with drawstrings, and the wide waistband’s elastic makes the trousers comfortable to wear. The shoulder parts are reinforced with fabric, making it more durable.

This Samue is available in three sizes: M, L, and LL, and three colors: black, navy blue, and grey – all of them feature a navy-blue zipper on the fly.
